SEHNDE – The plan became reality at the start of 2012, when Exportverpackung Sehnde GmbH increased its capacity once again at the Sehnde site with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art packaging facility.
The facility became operational in time for the end of the financial year and now provides further capacity for the packaging of equipment and machines for worldwide shipment by sea, air or road.
The commissioning of this new facility means that we can now move individual items weighing 40 t easily.
The facility is built in accordance with the provisions of the air cargo security plan for Regulated Agents and has been approved as a “secure zone” by the German Federal Aviation Office.

The facility has two 20 t gantry cranes and provides a further 1,600 m² of packing space with cutting-edge equipment.
The facility also naturally has adjoining rooms for presentations, project meetings and customer approval inspections, as well as a fibre-optic data link connecting the new area to the company network.

he building of this new packaging facility represents another important step for Exportverpackung Sehnde in its mission to strengthen its core business of sea and air freight packaging.
“An important enhancement and a signal to the market that Exportverpackung Sehnde is very well prepared and positioned to handle the growing requirements of the machinery and equipment shipment sector both now and in the future,” says Björn Scharnhorst, Managing Director of Exportverpackung Sehnde.
For the Sehnde site, this is an investment in the future that helps to actively secure jobs for all employees.
