1858 Kistenfabrik Scharnhorst crate-making factory founded in Anderten near Hanover, Germany.
1897 Name changed to “Andertener Kistenfabrik”, workforce numbers 7 up to the start of the 2nd World War. All the production work is done manually.
1945 Production facility destroyed in the war.
1948 Louis Scharnhorst rebuilds the destroyed factory.
1973 Graduate engineer Gerhard Scharnhorst takes over the business.
1977 Business moves to another location in Anderten and changes its name to “Holzverpackung Hannover GmbH”. It now has 15 employees.
1982 The site in Anderten becomes too small. Business moves to Sehnde to allow it to grow. “Exportverpackung Sehnde GmbH” is founded as a sister company and moves into the new site together with Holzverpackung Hannover GmbH.
1989 First 25 m-long box produced and shipped.
1995 Another record: packaging and shipment of an 80 t item.
2006 Certified in accordance with DIN ISO 9001:2000.
2008 The 5th generation enters the family business, with sons Thorben and Björn Scharnhorst, both business administration graduates, joining the company.
2012 Certification as Regulated Agent by the Bundesamt für Luftfahrt (German Federal Aviation Office).
